"Michael Berenstein is one of the most clear, concise and thorough animation teachers at the Academy of Art University. After taking his class I learned more about the finer side of animation and acting than I have in 90% of my classes. He has a great amount of knowledge not only in animation but film and the relating areas. I highly recommend him. If you have the chance, definitely take his class at AAU."

"Regarding the one-one,  I found it Super super  great!!!
To be honest I really cannot think of any negative feedback. I will recommend and have already recommended many students for a one-one with you.

The best thing i liked was you used to frame by frame in the maya file and not just quick time movie file . You used to work on my file and seeing you work and play around with the graph editor made my realise my problem areas.
Then learning to  look at 'key poses' in references was very helpful (eg for the horse gallop , we took still images of key poses from reference  and then just played the key poses in realtime)Then we worked on breakdowns.
Moreover, the boxing assignment was very helpful to me. You focussed on strong key poses and timing .
The guidance I got from you for my thesis was awsome too!"

"Am currently taking this class now(Biped and Quadruped Locomotion). It has taught alot that goes into the locomotion of a character, quad or biped. Michael is good teacher that I highly recommend in my opinion."

"It was my honor to have Michael Berenstein as my animation teacher.  I have learned a lot from him.  He has great sense of animation.  He is a consummate professional.  The wealth of animation knowledge I learned from him is priceless. He shook me out of my safety zone with character animation, encouraging me to take my acting little bit further to gain an explosive piece of cartoony, funny animation. He is an ongoing source of ideas.  He also helped me have a better understanding of detail and subtlety . He is a guy I look up to as an animator and human being.  I am really looking forward to learning from him again."
